La présidente De l’Association des Bibliothèques Universitaires, de Recherche et Institutionnelles de la Caraïbe (ACURIL), Mme Elizabeth PIERRE-LOUIS AUGUSTIN vous invite à proposer des sujets pour des ateliers à la 46^ème conférence d’ACURIL qui se tiendra l’Hotel Karibe, Pétion-Ville, Haïti du 5 au 9 Juin 2016.

Cet appel à propositions pour des ateliers est ouvert à tous les professionnels de l’information : bibliothécaires, archivistes, documentalistes, muséologues, etc.

Le thème de la conférence

Leadership : Une passerelle entre la tradition et l’innovation dans les bibliothèques, archives et musées de la Caraïbe.

Les sous-thèmes

Les sous-thèmes identifiés pour être discutés sont :

Sous-thème 1 : Leçons du passé : reconnaitre les leaders des bibliothèques de la Caraïbe

Sous-thème 2 : Développer les techniques de leadership

Sous-thème 3 : Les meilleures pratiques en innovation dans la Caraïbe

Les professionnels des bibliothèques, des archives et des musées sont tous confrontés au changement : nouvelles technologies, nouveaux publics et de nouveaux défis. Aussi, la main-d’œuvre traditionnelle part à la retraite. Il est donc impératif d’assurer la relève pour tous les métiers de l’information. Le leadership est vu comme un outil aussi bien qu’une philosophie qui servira à combler le vide entre les temps qui changent et les attentes.

Objectifs des ateliers 

Cet appel à proposition d’ateliers a pour objectif d’encourager les bibliothécaires, archivistes, muséologues et tous les autres professionnels de l’information à partager leurs idées et réalisations dans le domaine de l’information en offrant un compte-rendu de leur expérience selon un des sous-thèmes susmentionnés.

Les ateliers devront parler d’un des sous-thèmes susmentionnés.

Comment soumettre une proposition d’atelier

La date limite pour la proposition de sujets à l’atelier est le 29 Février 2016.

The President of the Association of Caribbean University, Research and Institutional Libraries (ACURIL), Ms. Elizabeth PIERRE-LOUIS AUGUSTIN, invites you to submit proposals for workshop presentations at the 46th ACURIL conference to be held at the Hotel Karibe, Port-au-Prince, Haïti, 5 - 9 June 2016.

This call for workshop is open to all information professionals: librarians, archivists, documentalists, museologists and other information professionals in the field of library and information science.

Conference Theme:

Leadership: a bridge between tradition and innovation in libraries, archives and museums of the Caribbean Conference theme

Library, archive and museum professionals are all confronted to change: new technology, new audiences, new services and new challenges. Also the traditional workforce is retiring and it is very important to have a legacy for all information professionals. Leadership is seen as tool as well as a philosophy to bridge the gap between changing times and expectations.

The purpose of the workshop presentation

This Call for workshop presentation is intended to encourage librarians, archivists, record managers, museum experts, and other information professionals to share ideas, developments in the information field offering a hands-on experience, in one of the conference related sub-themes.

Sub-themes

The conference sub-themes are as follows:

Sub-Theme I: Lessons from the past: recognizing leaders in Caribbean libraries
Sub-Theme II: Developing leadership skills
Sub-Theme III: Best practices in Innovation in the Caribbean.

Topic guidelines
The workshop presentation must speak to one of the above mentioned sub-themes and must be practical, with hands on experience.  In addition, presenters are encouraged to relate their workshops to the ACURIL Special Interest Groups or Content Area Roundtables. 

Workshop Format

Workshop size will be limited to 25 participants so as to encourage interaction.  Presenters are also encouraged, where suitable, to use a wide range of illustrative matter to support their workshop presentations.  Workshops can be presented in any of the three official languages of ACURIL - English, French or Spanish.  Time devoted to the workshop: 45 minutes to 1 hour.

How to submit a Workshop presentation Proposal:

Workshops can be presented in any of the three official languages of ACURIL - English, French or Spanish. Proposals may be submitted by e-mail or hard copy. The deadline for workshop proposals is February 29, 2016.

Proposals must  include:

·        Workshop title

·        Abstract (200 - 500 words) with content related to one of the conference sub-themes

·        Name of presenter(s)

·        Bio-data of presenter (s) (150 words)

·        Position/title of presenter(s)

·        Employer/institutional affiliation

·        Mailing addresses

·        Telephone/fax numbers

·        E-mail(s)

·        Necessary IT-Equipment

Notification of acceptance of a workshop presentation will be made no later than March 15, 2016.  Workshop presentation abstracts will be published in the final program.

Document Format:

·         For the final work, each presenter must provide one hard copy and one electronic format document of the presentation. The electronic format document must be sent as a Microsoft Word (.doc) file with the Ppt file presented.

·         Title heading – Times New Roman 12pt, Bold, centered all caps

·         Sub-headings – Times New Roman 11pt, centered

·         Name and title, institutional affiliation, e-mail - Times Roman, 11pt, centered.

·         The abstract

Electronic versions: Copies of Ppt, slideshsare, CDs, videos need to be submitted.

Format de la présentation

· Chaque présentateur aura 20 minutes maximum pour présenter leur article. Il est recommandé de parler des points clés et de ne pas lire tout le texte

·  10 minutes seront accordées pour les questions et réponses

·  Tous les participants doivent préparer un article complet pour accéder aux procédures de la conférence

·  Tous les articles seront inclus dans les procédures et doivent reçus jusqu’au 13 Avril 2016

C’est quoi une présentation d’affiche ?

Les présentations d’affiches permettent aux bibliothécaires de partager des idées de réussite avec les collègues en présentant une recherche, un projet spécial, une stratégie de résolution de problème, un programme innovant ou un service en bibliothèque et/ou des services d’information. L’objectif de l’exposition d’affiches est de fournir des opportunités de mettre en évidence des opportunités et de les partager. Des tableaux de d’affichage seront attribués pour accrocher les posters. Il sera demandé aux présentateurs d’apporter les affiches achevées en Haïti.

Lignes directives des sujets

Les présentations d’affiches peuvent se situer n’importe où dans les champs d’information. Elles auront lieu du 5 au 9 Juin 2016 à l’HOTEL KARIBE.

Les participants devront être présents auprès de leur présentation pendant les heures mentionnées dans le programme.

Format des affiches

Images, graphiques, données, texte et des polycopiés peuvent être utilisés pour illustrer l’affiche. Il n’y aura pas de matériels de projection disponibles. Les bonnes présentations doivent mettre en valeur à travers un affichage visuel, des points clés ou des parties d’espace ou sujet concernant le produit de l’information ou le service.

This Call for Poster Presentations is open to all information specialists including librarians, archivists, record administrators and educators in the field of information science, as well as information providers.

The conference sub-themes are as follows:

Sub-Theme I: Lessons from the past: recognizing leaders in Caribbean librairies.
Sub-Theme II: Developing leadership skills.

Sub-Theme III: Best practices in innovation in the Caribbean.

What is a Poster Presentation?

The aim of the poster presentation is to provide opportunities to share experiences. It is, therefore, a presentation in a poster board that advertises a service, a product, a topic, a research endeavor. It allows viewers to walk by and observe a particular work being presented, discuss and share ideas. 

At ACURIL 2016 HAITI, the posters at the Caribbean Boulevard will aim to provide a forum for information professionals to highlight and share successful ideas and experiences with colleagues by presenting a special project, a problem-solving strategy, a research study, an innovative program or service in library and /or information services focusing on the conference sub-themes.  A space will be provided for the Caribbean Boulevard to display the posters. Presenters will be required to bring finished posters to Port-au-Prince, Haïti.

Topic guidelines

·         Posters at the Caribbean Boulevard will be presented from June 5-9, 2016.

·         Poster presentations must address any of the sub-themes of the conference.

·         The poster display should include a statement of the theme or problem, objectives of the research, project or idea being presented, the methodology used to solve the problem or implement the program, the major findings or outcomes and their significance, and conclusions.

How to Submit a Poster Proposal Abstract

The deadline for poster board presentation abstract is February 29, 2016.

Poster presentations can be in any of the three official languages of ACURIL - English, French or Spanish.

·         Proposals may be submitted by e-mail or hard copy.  Proposals must include:

·         Poster presentation title (in relation to the conference theme)

·         Abstract (200 - 500 words)

·         Name of presenter(s)

·         Position/title of presenter(s)

·         Employer/institutional affiliation(s)

·         Mailing addresses

·         Telephone/fax numbers

·         E-mail

Notification of acceptance of a poster presentation will be made no later than March 15, 2016.  Poster presentations titles will be published in the final program and on ACURIL’s Portal.

Format of Poster Presentations

No electrical support or Internet connections are available in the poster area.  An effective poster presentation must visually demonstrate the key elements or significant points of a theme, product or service related to the conference.

·         The dimensions of posters should be 3 feet wide x 4 feet high; that is, 36 x 48 inches.

·         Impressions may be in paper, from a Power-Point presentation or common poster characteristics.

·         Screen prints, charts, drawings, photographs, and other graphics along with text, to illustrate the presentation, are encouraged.

·         Lettering should be simple, bold, and easily legible from a distance of four feet.

·         Posters may be accompanied with handouts.

·         All materials to be displayed should be prepared before arrival. Supplies will not be available at the conference site.

·         Presenters will be required to bring finished posters to Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

·         Citations should use the American Psychological Association (APA) Style Manual, 6^th Ed.
